I am lucky to have one of the best jobs in the world! I'd like to use this blog to share a few stories and photos of some of the great people we meet every day.
I have been hooked on photography since I was a kid. From the first time I developed a print in the darkroom - I never looked back. I took photos of everyone and everything with a 35mm camera my uncle gave me. He too shares my love of photography and without his generous gift I may never have gotten started. At the ripe age of 19, I borrowed $900 and bought my first professional camera. I started assisting on weddings (during the ruffled shirt, disco haired 70s) and at 22 in 1978 started LaMoore from the kitchen table of our house in Detroit.
Since then we have worked from 5 different locations, moving into ever larger buildings as the business grew. I have photographed over 1000 weddings, 5,000 high school seniors and thousands of families and their children. I am proud to say we are now doing senior portraits and even a few weddings for kids of parents whose weddings I photographed. It's been a privledge to help tell the story of so many people through our images.
Digital has brought many changes to the industry. We are exploring new ways of helping families tell their story. Many exciting new services will soon be offered at LaMoore. More on that soon . . .
